Forest Resources Institute Regional Node

The Forest Resources Institute Regional Node is the prototype for a new data distribution initiative for Texas. Part of the Texas Geography Network (TxGN), the Regional Node Initiative calls for the establishment of a network of regional data hubs across the state. FRI is developing the prototype regional node, in cooperation with the Texas Natural Resources Information System (TNRIS).

The Texas Geography Network Regional Nodes provide access to a variety of spatial data for Texas. This includes the Texas Strategic Mapping Program (StratMap) high resolution data for the region served by the node. Additional datasets of specific local and regional interest are also provided. As this prototype node continues to develop, additional datasets will be included. Current GIS data holdings are accessible here. Remote Sensing data holdings are accessible through the TexasView website hosted by FRI.
