Forest Resources
Institute Regional Node
The Forest Resources Institute Regional
Node is the prototype for a new data distribution initiative
for Texas. Part of the Texas Geography Network (TxGN),
the Regional Node Initiative calls for the establishment of
a network of regional data hubs across the state. FRI is developing
the prototype regional node, in cooperation with the Texas Natural Resources Information
System (TNRIS).
The Texas Geography Network Regional
Nodes provide access to a variety of spatial data for Texas.
This includes the Texas Strategic Mapping
Program (StratMap) high resolution data for the region
served by the node. Additional datasets of specific local
and regional interest are also provided. As this prototype
node continues to develop, additional datasets will be included.
Current GIS data holdings are accessible
here. Remote Sensing
data holdings are accessible through the TexasView
website hosted by FRI.
More info about the Texas Geography
Network Regional Node Initiative is available in the documents
